phrasal verbs -  rub
"rub in 1" means to make something absorb into something or someone using your hand
 يدهن أو يفرك شيئ ما علي شيئ أخر أو شخص ما
  • Make sure you rub in the sunblock all over your body before going to the beach today.

"rub in 2" means to remind someone of something until they feel bad
 يذكره بشيئ ما مرارا حتى يغضبه. مثلا دهبت لتحدث فتاة ما فرفضت الحديث معك، صديقك شاهد ذلك، وكل مرة بدأ يذكرك بما حصل لك حتى تغضب أو تنزعج
  • I know I told you I would fix your car, but please don't rub it in by telling me everyday that you hate taking the bus to work.

"rub off 1" means for something to become worn out so that you can no longer see it
 ينمحي :  من تلقاء نفسه
  • My keyboard is so old that all the characters have rubbed off the keys.

"rub off 2" means for someone to have influence over someone so much that they act like them
 تصبح تتصرف كما يتصرف شخص أخر، طباعه أو خصاله تنتقل أو تؤثر عليك
  • "Her good habit of staying fit has rubbed off on him because I see him exercising regularly at the gym now.

"rub out" means to make something disappear from something by applying pressure with your hand
 يمحي : يجعل شيئ ما ينمحي : أنت من تمحي
  • I had a bad scratch on my car and I rubbed it out using a special wax formula and a cloth.

"rub up against" means to make physical contact with something or someone
 يحتك بشيئ أو بشخص
