"tear apart 1" means to separate something into pieces, usually in a violent way    يمزق إربا، يقطع أجزاءا

• The zookeeper gave the gorilla a watermelon and he tore it apart.

"tear apart 2" means to make someone very unhappy    يجعله حزين ; يحطم فؤاده

• Seeing her dog get hit by a car really tore her apart.

"tear apart 3" means to divide people or a group of people   يفرق،  ينهي  (خاصة: علاقة، صداقة، إلخ...)

• When I discovered my best friend told lies about me, it tore our friendship apart.

"tear down" means to destroy something   يهدم
