"snowed under with" means for someone to be overwhelmed with something
 يستعمل هذا التعبير لتقول بأنك :   مضغوط بالقيام بشيئ ما  -  لذيك الكثير من العمل لتقوم به
  • We are snowed under with remodeling our house so we won't have time for a long vacation this summer.

"pull your own weight" means that someone is doing what is expected to be their share of something
 يستعمل هذا التعبير لتقول لشخص ما بأن :  يقوم بالعمل المنوط به أو يساهم و يتعاون
  • I would never want to rent an apartment with him because he doesn't pull his own weight.

"brace yourself" means someone needs to prepare themselves for something unpleasant
 يستعمل هذا التعبير لتقول لشخص ما بأن :  يهيئ نفسه لشيئ غير سار
  • Brace yourself to hear the bad news.

"shoot the breeze" means for someone to have a conversation about unimportant things
 يمضي الوقت في الحديث عن أشياء غير مهمة
  • Everytime I get my hair cut I shoot the breeze with the barber.

"put your own spin on something" means for someone to give a certain interpretation of something
 يقوم بتأويل أو تعديل شيئ ما :   ( قصة، حوار ، خطاب ، كلام إلخ )
  • She put her own spin on the story and made it more suspenseful.
