Eager Beaver

Someone who is very enthusiastic and eager to do something.

Jenny is always the first one to volunteer for any project at work. She's a real eager beaver.

Early Bird

Someone who wakes up early and starts their day sooner than others. Often used with the proverb "The early bird catches the worm," meaning they might have an advantage by starting earlier.

I'm an early bird, so I usually get to the gym before most people are even awake.

The early bird catches the worm, so Tom always arrives at the office an hour before everyone else.

Easier Said Than Done

Something sounds simple when talked about, but it is more difficult to actually do.

Losing weight is easier said than done; it requires a lot of discipline and commitment.

Easy Come, Easy Go

Things gained or achieved easily are just as easily lost.

I won $100 in a lottery, but I spent it all in one day. Well, easy come, easy go.

Easy on the Eyes

Pleasant or attractive to look at.

The new painting in the living room is really easy on the eyes; it adds a nice touch to the decor.

Eat Your Heart Out

An expression used to boastfully tell someone to envy or regret their own situation.

I just got a promotion and a raise. Eat your heart out, haters!

Elephant in the Room

An obvious problem or issue that everyone is aware of but avoids discussing.

Everyone noticed the project's failure, but no one wanted to talk about it. It was the elephant in the room.

Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining

In every difficult situation, there is something positive.

Losing my job was tough, but I found a new opportunity that I wouldn't have considered otherwise. Every cloud has a silver lining.

Everything but the Kitchen Sink

Including almost everything possible.

When Jane packed for the camping trip, she brought everything but the kitchen sink - it took us hours to unload the car!
